FIRST GRADE TEAM

This is my 21st year of teaching, and my 11th year in first grade at Academy School.  Prior to Academy, I taught preschool and kindergarten at Neighborhood Schoolhouse.  I believe strongly that with a strong sense of belonging and interdependence within a classroom community, students will thrive.  I strive to create a classroom community in which students feel empowered and confident and recognize that their contributions have the ability to positively impact their shared learning community.  I live in Brattleboro with my husband, three children, dog, and cat.  I spend my time outside of school on the trails around town with my dog. I LOVE to mountain bike (and inspire kids to do the same), trail run, and ski mountains throughout  Vermont.
